Ingredients
- 1 large ripe tomato, finely chopped
- 3 ripe avocados
- Juice of 1 lime
- Handful of cilantro, chopped (plus extra for serving)
- 1 small red onion, finely diced
- 1 red chili pepper, seeds and ribs removed, finely chopped
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Cut the avocados in half, removing the pit, and scooping the flesh into a mixing bowl.
- Use a fork or a potato masher to mash the avocados to your desired consistency.
- Add the lime juice immediately to prevent browning.
- Gently fold in the chopped tomato, cilantro, red onion, and chili pepper.
- Season with salt and pepper, tasting as you go to achieve your preferred flavor.
- Serve immediately or cover with plastic wrap directly on the surface of the guacamole to prevent oxidation until ready to serve.
