Description

A delightful treat combining strawberries, ice cream, and fizzy soda, perfect for summer gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2-3 scoops French vanilla ice cream
  • 2 cups fresh diced strawberries
  • 1-2 tsp sugar
  • 1 cup lime soda (such as 7UP or Sprite)
  • Red sugar crystals (optional for garnish)
  • Extra strawberries (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Macerate strawberries: In a bowl, combine the diced strawberries and sugar. Let them sit for about 10-15 minutes until they release their juices.
  2. Assemble the float: In a tall glass, add a scoop or two of the macerated strawberries.
  3. Pour: Carefully add the lime soda on top of the strawberries to allow it to fizz up.
  4. Garnish: Top with a scoop of French vanilla ice cream, sprinkle red sugar crystals over it if you’re feeling festive, and add a few extra strawberries for decoration.

Notes

For more intense strawberry flavor, blend some macerated strawberries into a puree to drizzle inside the glass.
