These quick and easy Spicy Grilled Shrimp Skewers are perfect for summer dining, customizable in heat level and full of flavor.
Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh shrimp, deveined and shelled
- ⅛ cup olive oil (or another neutral oil)
- ⅛ cup lemon juice (fresh or bottled)
- 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ¼ teaspoon chili powder
- Pinch to ⅛ teaspoon cayenne (adjust to your heat preference)
Instructions
- Preheat an outdoor grill or stovetop grill pan to high heat. Soak wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes if using.
- Place the cleaned, deveined, and shelled shrimp in a medium bowl.
- In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, paprika, chili powder, and cayenne until well combined.
- Pour the marinade over the shrimp and toss until uniformly coated. Let sit for 5 minutes.
- Thread the marinated shrimp onto prepared skewers.
- Place skewers on the hot grill and cook for 90 seconds on the first side. Flip and grill for another 90 seconds on the second side.
- Remove from grill and enjoy while hot.
