Description
An elegant and comforting creamy garlic shrimp pasta that’s ready in just 15 minutes.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces linguine pasta
- Salt for the pasta water
- 1 cup reserved pasta cooking water
- 1 pound raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning (optional)
- 1/2 tablespoon butter
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Bring a medium pot of salted water to a boil. Add linguine and cook until al dente, reserving 1 cup of starchy cooking water before draining.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add 1 tablespoon of butter and olive oil. Add shrimp in a single layer, season, and cook until pink and opaque.
- Remove shrimp and set aside. In the same skillet, melt 1/2 tablespoon of butter and cook garlic until fragrant.
- Pour in heavy cream, deglaze the pan, and stir in Parmesan until melted.
- Add reserved pasta water to achieve desired sauce consistency and let simmer for 1 minute.
- Toss pasta with sauce, add shrimp back, and coat well. Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
Let the sauce thicken by adding pasta water gradually. Avoid overcooking the shrimp to keep them tender.
