Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken breasts
- Salt, pepper, and garlic powder for seasoning
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1/2 teaspoon each: salt, pepper, oregano, thyme
- 1 teaspoon each: paprika, onion powder, garlic powder
Instructions
- Cut chicken breasts in half lengthwise and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat, then mix in flour to create a roux.
- Pour in chicken broth, whisk to combine, and add the seasonings.
- Once bubbling, add seasoned chicken to skillet, pressing down into gravy.
- Cover and cook for 12-15 minutes until chicken reaches 165°F.
- Shred chicken in the pan and stir to combine with gravy.
Notes
Feel free to substitute chicken thighs for breasts and use gluten-free flour for a gluten-free version. Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or biscuits.
