Description

A delightful dessert bringing together the tropical sweetness of pineapple and buttery cake, beautifully presented for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 can (20 oz) sliced pineapple, drained
  • Maraschino cherries
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt the butter in a 9-inch round cake pan until it’s bubbly.
  3. Evenly sprinkle the brown sugar over the melted butter.
  4. Arrange the pineapple slices decoratively on top and place one maraschino cherry in the center of each slice.
  5. Combine the flour, granulated sugar, milk, eggs, baking powder, vanilla extract, and salt in a mixing bowl. Mix until the batter is smooth.
  6. Carefully pour the batter over the decorated pineapple layer in the pan.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cake to cool for about 10 minutes before inverting it onto a serving platter.
  9. Serve it warm or at room temperature, ideally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
