No-Bake Peanut Butter Cheerio Bars

Description

These simple no-bake peanut butter Cheerio bars are perfect for breakfast, snacks, or treats, made with just three ingredients.


Ingredients

  • 3½ cups plain Cheerios or Honey Nut Cheerios
  • ½ cup honey (or maple syrup for a vegan option)
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil (optional)


Instructions

  1. Grease an 8×8 inch or 9×9 inch baking pan and set it aside.
  2. Add the honey, peanut butter, and olive oil to a medium saucepan over low heat.
  3. Stir continuously until the mixture becomes smooth and slightly bubbly, about 3-4 minutes. Do not let it boil.
  4. Remove from heat and pour in the Cheerios, stirring until fully coated.
  5. Press the mixture firmly into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
  6. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to firm up.
  7. Once set, slice into 12 equal bars and serve.

Notes

Use parchment paper for pressing the mixture down to prevent sticking. Bars should be allowed to chill for a minimum of 1 hour for best results.
