Description
These simple no-bake peanut butter Cheerio bars are perfect for breakfast, snacks, or treats, made with just three ingredients.
Ingredients
- 3½ cups plain Cheerios or Honey Nut Cheerios
- ½ cup honey (or maple syrup for a vegan option)
- ½ cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 teaspoon olive oil (optional)
Instructions
- Grease an 8×8 inch or 9×9 inch baking pan and set it aside.
- Add the honey, peanut butter, and olive oil to a medium saucepan over low heat.
- Stir continuously until the mixture becomes smooth and slightly bubbly, about 3-4 minutes. Do not let it boil.
- Remove from heat and pour in the Cheerios, stirring until fully coated.
- Press the mixture firmly into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
- Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to firm up.
- Once set, slice into 12 equal bars and serve.
Notes
Use parchment paper for pressing the mixture down to prevent sticking. Bars should be allowed to chill for a minimum of 1 hour for best results.
