Ingredients
- 1 lb white fish fillets (tilapia or cod)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup buttermilk
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
- 8 small corn tortillas
- 1 cup shredded cabbage
- 1/2 cup pico de gallo
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- Lime wedges (for serving)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the flour, paprika, cumin, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
- Dip each fish fillet into buttermilk, then coat with the flour mixture followed by cornmeal.
- Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Fry the fish for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
- Warm the corn tortillas in a skillet or microwave.
- Assemble your tacos by placing pieces of fried fish on the tortillas. Top with shredded cabbage, pico de gallo, and a dollop of sour cream.
- Serve with lime wedges on the side for a zesty finish.
Notes
For a spicy kick, add sriracha or jalapeños. Consider using different fish like salmon or shrimp for variety.
