Description
Tender chicken thighs coated in a sweet honey and savory garlic glaze for a quick weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- 8 boneless chicken thighs (about 5 ounces each)
- Salt and ground black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (or as needed)
- ½ medium onion, finely chopped
- 7 cloves garlic, chopped (or 1 whole head for garlic lovers)
- 1 cup honey
- ½ cup soy sauce
- 1 pinch onion powder (or to taste)
- 1 pinch garlic powder (or to taste)
- ¼ cup chopped fresh cilantro (or substitute fresh parsley)
Instructions
- Season both sides of chicken thighs generously with salt and black pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken thighs and brown on one side for 3-5 minutes.
- Flip the chicken and add chopped onion and garlic to the skillet. Cook for 5-7 minutes until mostly cooked through. Remove chicken to a plate.
- Add honey, soy sauce, onion powder, and garlic powder to the skillet. Stir and scrape up browned bits from the pan.
- Return chicken to the skillet, spoon some sauce over the top, cover, and reduce heat. Cook for about 10 minutes or until chicken is no longer pink in the center.
- Serve the chicken on a plate, drizzled with the honey-garlic sauce and topped with fresh cilantro.
Notes
Serve over rice or alongside vegetables. Adjust sweetness by using less honey if desired.
