Description

A quick and easy honey garlic shrimp recipe that’s sweet, savory, and perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup honey
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger (or ¼ teaspoon ground)
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 pound large shrimp (16-20 count), peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups broccoli florets, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, grated ginger, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes.
  2. Marinate the shrimp in one-third of the sauce for about 10 minutes.
  3. Add cornstarch to the remaining sauce and whisk until smooth.
  4. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over high heat, add broccoli, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 5-6 minutes until just tender. Remove and set aside.
  5. Add butter to the skillet, then add the marinated shrimp and cook for about 2 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
  6. Pour in the reserved sauce and simmer for 2-3 minutes until thickened.
  7. Add broccoli back to the pan and toss to coat everything in the sauce.
  8. Serve immediately over rice or noodles.

Notes

Marinate shrimp longer for deeper flavor. Fresh broccoli is best but frozen can be used. Store leftovers in the fridge for 2-3 days.
