Ingredients
- 12 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup white wine
- 1 tsp Italian herbs
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add olive oil.
- Once hot, sauté sliced mushrooms until golden brown.
- Pour in white wine and let it simmer, scraping up any bits stuck to the pan.
- Lower the heat and add heavy cream; stir until combined.
- Sprinkle in Italian herbs and add lemon juice, salt, and pepper to taste.
- Allow the sauce to cook gently until it thickens.
- Serve warm over mashed potatoes, rice, pasta, or your favorite dish.
Notes
For a non-alcoholic version, substitute white wine with vegetable broth. To thicken, let the sauce simmer longer over low heat.
