Ingredients

  • 12 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 1 tsp Italian herbs
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add olive oil.
  2. Once hot, sauté sliced mushrooms until golden brown.
  3. Pour in white wine and let it simmer, scraping up any bits stuck to the pan.
  4. Lower the heat and add heavy cream; stir until combined.
  5. Sprinkle in Italian herbs and add lemon juice, salt, and pepper to taste.
  6. Allow the sauce to cook gently until it thickens.
  7. Serve warm over mashed potatoes, rice, pasta, or your favorite dish.

Notes

For a non-alcoholic version, substitute white wine with vegetable broth. To thicken, let the sauce simmer longer over low heat.
