Description

A quick and flavorful garlic butter grilled shrimp recipe that’s perfect for impressing guests or enjoying a delicious dinner at home.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds large tail-on shrimp, peeled and deveined (about 30 to 35 shrimp)
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ cup (1 stick) salted butter, melted
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 tablespoons minced fresh flat-leaf parsley, plus more for garnish
  • 1 lemon, cut into wedges
  • Metal or bamboo skewers (if using bamboo, soak them in water for 30 minutes first)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
  2. Make the garlic butter by whisking together melted butter, minced garlic, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, salt, and fresh parsley. Set aside ¼ cup for brushing later.
  3. Add shrimp to the bowl with the remaining garlic butter and toss gently to coat.
  4. Thread shrimp onto skewers, fitting 5 to 6 shrimp per skewer, leaving space between them.
  5. Grill skewers on preheated grill for 3 to 4 minutes without moving.
  6. Carefully flip skewers and grill for another 3 to 4 minutes until shrimp are opaque and lightly charred.
  7. Transfer skewers to a serving platter, brush with reserved garlic butter, and garnish with parsley. Serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

For a spicy kick, double the cayenne pepper or add Cajun seasoning. Remaining garlic butter mixture can be used for brushing shrimp after grilling.
