Description

Greek chicken burgers are a delightful twist on BBQ staples with fragrant herbs, lean ground chicken, and tangy tzatziki.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • ¼ cup diced red onion
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • ¼ cup sun-dried tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 1 cup (loosely packed) baby spinach, roughly chopped
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • Butter lettuce, for serving
  • Tzatziki sauce, for topping
  • Crumbled feta cheese, for garnish
  • Sliced onion, tomato, and avocado, optional

Instructions

  1. Mix together the ground chicken, diced red onion, minced garlic, sun-dried tomatoes, chopped spinach, dill, oregano, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl.
  2. Divide the mixture into four portions and shape them into patties.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5 minutes on each side, until golden brown and fully cooked through.
  4. Enjoy the patties on their own or assemble into burgers with your choice of toppings!

Notes

For a low-carb option, serve in butter lettuce wraps. You can substitute ground turkey for chicken or try using ground lamb for a variation.
