Description
A quick and comforting butter chicken skillet inspired by Texas Roadhouse, featuring juicy chicken in a rich garlic butter sauce.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs for extra juiciness)
- Salt and cracked black pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 4 tablespoons butter, divided
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- Optional: Shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese
- Optional: Caramelized onions
Instructions
- Season the chicken by patting it dry and seasoning both sides with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Sear the chicken in a large skillet over medium heat with 2 tablespoons of butter for 5-6 minutes per side until golden brown, then remove and set aside.
- Build the garlic butter sauce by melting the remaining butter, adding minced garlic, and cooking for about 30 seconds. Pour in chicken broth and honey, scraping up the browned bits.
- Return the chicken to the skillet and let it simmer in the sauce for 5-7 minutes until it reaches 165°F internally and the sauce thickens.
- If using, sprinkle cheese on top and cover until melted. Add caramelized onions if desired.
- Garnish with dried parsley and serve hot with extra sauce spooned over.
Notes
Serve directly from the skillet for a rustic presentation or plate individually. It pairs well with mashed potatoes or crusty bread for soaking up the sauce.
