Description

A quick and comforting butter chicken skillet inspired by Texas Roadhouse, featuring juicy chicken in a rich garlic butter sauce.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs for extra juiciness)
  • Salt and cracked black pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 4 tablespoons butter, divided
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • Optional: Shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese
  • Optional: Caramelized onions

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken by patting it dry and seasoning both sides with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  2. Sear the chicken in a large skillet over medium heat with 2 tablespoons of butter for 5-6 minutes per side until golden brown, then remove and set aside.
  3. Build the garlic butter sauce by melting the remaining butter, adding minced garlic, and cooking for about 30 seconds. Pour in chicken broth and honey, scraping up the browned bits.
  4. Return the chicken to the skillet and let it simmer in the sauce for 5-7 minutes until it reaches 165°F internally and the sauce thickens.
  5. If using, sprinkle cheese on top and cover until melted. Add caramelized onions if desired.
  6. Garnish with dried parsley and serve hot with extra sauce spooned over.

Notes

Serve directly from the skillet for a rustic presentation or plate individually. It pairs well with mashed potatoes or crusty bread for soaking up the sauce.
