Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup red onions, finely chopped
  • 12 jalapeño or serrano peppers, seeded and finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons cilantro, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt (or to taste)
  • 3 ripe Hass avocados, halved and pitted
  • 12 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice (or to taste)
  • 1 ripe Roma tomato, seeded and chopped (optional)
  • Tortilla Chips for serving


Instructions

  1. Combine the red onions, jalapeño peppers, half of the cilantro, and salt in a medium bowl.
  2. Mash the ingredients together until well mixed and fragrant.
  3. Scoop out the avocado flesh into the bowl and mash it to your desired consistency.
  4. Stir in the remaining cilantro and lime juice, and if using, fold in the tomatoes gently.
  5. Taste and adjust salt and lime juice as needed before serving.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the fridge, pressing plastic wrap onto the surface to minimize oxidation.
