Celebrate the flavors of fall with these glazed air fryer apple fritters. They’re quick to make, delightfully crispy, and topped with a sweet glaze that makes them irresistible.
Ingredients
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon fine sea salt
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
- ⅓ cup granulated sugar
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- ½ cup unsweetened applesauce
- ¼ cup milk of choice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 large apple, peeled and diced
- 1½ cups powdered sugar, sifted (for glaze)
- 2–3 tablespoons milk of choice (for glaze)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and sugar.
- In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter, applesauce, milk, and vanilla extract.
- Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in the diced apples.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Line the basket with parchment paper and lightly spray with cooking spray.
- Scoop about ¼ cup of batter per fritter and place in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each. Cook for 5 minutes, then flip and cook for an additional 5 minutes until golden brown.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Drizzle over the warm fritters.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. Freeze cooled fritters without glaze for up to 2 months. Reheat in the air fryer and glaze before serving. Experiment with different spices like nutmeg or cardamom for a unique twist.
