Description

These 2-ingredient banana donut holes are a quick and easy sweet treat, perfect for snacks or desserts.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup ripe banana (about 1 large banana)
  • ¾ cup self-rising flour
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ cup unrefined sugar (or substitute with monk fruit blend for a sugar-free option)
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil (melted, or use melted vegan butter)
  • 23 teaspoons melted coconut oil (for kneading)

Instructions

  1. Mash the banana into a smooth puree until you have ½ cup. Add the self-rising flour and stir with a rubber spatula until it starts to form lumps. Oil your hands and knead the mixture to form a sticky dough ball. If the dough is too moist, add up to 2–3 tablespoons more flour, but avoid over-flouring.
  2. Grease your hands with melted coconut oil. Take about a tablespoon of dough, roll it into a ball, and place it on a plate lined with parchment paper. Repeat until all the dough is shaped into balls.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (180°C). Lightly spray the air fryer basket with oil and place the donut holes inside, leaving about 1 inch (3 cm) between each. Air fry for 6–7 minutes or until they’re puffy and golden brown.
  4. While the donut holes are air frying, mix the cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl. Once the donut holes are done, brush each warm ball with melted coconut oil using a pastry brush. Then, roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat evenly.
  5. Enjoy the donut holes warm for the best taste and texture.

Notes

Store the donut holes in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. For a gluten-free option, replace self-rising flour with a gluten-free flour blend. Add a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the dough for more flavor.
