  • Author: easymeal
  • Total Time: 27 minutes
  • Yield: 12 deviled egg halves
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

A simple yet delightful appetizer that makes any occasion special with a perfect blend of rich flavors and creamy texture.

Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • A pinch of freshly ground black pepper
  • Smoked paprika for garnish
  • Optional: Fresh chives or parsley, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Place the eggs in a medium saucepan and cover them with cold water by about an inch.
  2. Bring the water to a rolling boil over medium-high heat. Remove from heat and cover for 12 minutes.
  3. Transfer the eggs to a bowl of ice water and let them cool for at least 5 minutes.
  4. Crack and peel each egg carefully.
  5. Slice each egg in half lengthwise and scoop the yolks into a mixing bowl.
  6. Mash the yolks, then mix in mayonnaise, mustard, vinegar, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  7. Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture back into the egg whites. Garnish with smoked paprika and chopped herbs if desired.

Notes

For a creamier texture, let the mayonnaise come to room temperature before mixing it with the yolks. You can substitute the mayonnaise for avocado for a healthier version.
