A comforting baked chicken dish layered with Swiss cheese, a creamy wine-enriched sauce, and topped with crispy herb-seasoned stuffing.


Ingredients

  • 6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 6 slices Swiss cheese (about 6 ounces total)
  • 1 can (10.75 ounces) cream of chicken soup, undiluted
  • ¾ cup dry white wine or water
  • 1½ cups herb-seasoned stuffing mix, crushed
  • ¾ cup ( sticks) butter, melted


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 13×9-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  2. Layer chicken breasts in the baking dish. Top each breast with a slice of Swiss cheese.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix the cream of chicken soup and wine until smooth.
  4. Spoon the soup mixture over the chicken and cheese.
  5. Sprinkle the crushed stuffing mix over the entire dish and drizzle with melted butter.
  6. Bake uncovered for 50-60 minutes, until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F and the stuffing is golden brown. Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a variation, use different cheeses or stuffing flavors. This dish can be assembled a day ahead and refrigerated.
