Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 burger buns
  • Cheese slices (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and a pinch of salt. Cook while stirring occasionally until they caramelize, about 15-20 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, form the ground beef into four patties. Season each patty generously with salt and pepper.
  3. Preheat your grill or another skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes per side for a medium doneness. If using cheese, add the slices during the last minute of cooking to melt.
