Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 4 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, and stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry mixture into the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
- Drop tablespoonfuls of dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them about two inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers remain soft.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For different flavors, swap out chocolate chips for dark or milk chocolate. Serve warm with ice cream or drizzle with caramel.
