Description
A quick and easy side dish that elevates simple carrots with a sweet and savory glaze.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs (907 g) baby carrots
- 2 tablespoons light brown sugar (packed)
- 2 tablespoons pure honey
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon freshly chopped dill (optional for garnish)
- 500 ml water
- Salt (to taste)
- Black pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, combine baby carrots with water and a generous pinch of salt. Bring to a medium-high heat and let the water simmer, allowing it to evaporate as the carrots soften.
- Once the water has disappeared, reduce the heat to medium and add the butter, honey, and brown sugar to the skillet. Stir continuously for about 5 minutes, until a glossy and thick glaze forms around the carrots.
- Check the seasoning and adjust with additional salt and black pepper according to your preference.
- Gently fold in the fresh dill, ensuring you distribute the herb evenly for a fragrant finish.
Notes
For a different flavor twist, substitute honey with maple syrup. For a less sweet glaze, add more butter or a squeeze of lemon juice.
