Ingredients

- 1/4 cup nuts (like almonds or walnuts) or dried fruit (like raisins or cranberries)
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise or a vinegar-based dressing

Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the broccoli and cauliflower florets with diced red onion.
- If using cheese, bacon, or nuts/dried fruits, mix those in now.
- In a separate bowl, combine the mayonnaise (or dressing) with salt and pepper to taste.
- Pour the dressing over the salad and toss everything to coat evenly.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving, allowing the flavors to meld.
