A delicious and easy blackened salmon recipe served with a creamy dill sauce, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- For the Dill Sauce:
- 1/2 cup sour cream (regular or dairy-free)
- 1/4 cup mayo
- 3 tablespoons fresh dill (chopped)
- 1 teaspoon garlic (minced)
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
- For the Blackened Salmon:
- 4-6 salmon fillets (skin-on, 6 oz each)
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon chipotle pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil (divided)
Instructions
- Make the dill sauce: Combine the dill sauce ingredients in a small bowl and stir until well blended. Store in the fridge until ready to serve.
- Prep: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel.
- Make the seasoning: In a bowl, mix together all the seasoning ingredients.
- Oil and season the salmon: Drizzle 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil over the salmon fillets and cover with seasoning.
- Sear the salmon: Heat a skillet, add olive oil, and sear the salmon skin-side up for 1-3 minutes.
- Bake: Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake uncovered for 10-14 minutes.
- Serve: Remove from the oven and serve immediately with dill sauce.
Notes
For a spicier kick, feel free to increase the cayenne pepper amount.
