Description
These oven-baked baby back ribs are juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor thanks to a homemade dry rub and barbecue sauce. Perfect for family gatherings or weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
- 2 slabs of baby back pork ribs (about 1.5 pounds each)
- 1 cup of your favorite barbecue sauce
- ½ cup light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions
- Prepare the ribs by removing the thin membrane from the bone side.
- Make the rub by mixing brown sugar, cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Season the ribs generously with the dry rub, pressing it into the meat.
- Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Wrap the ribs in heavy-duty aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
- Add barbecue sauce, increase the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
- Slice the ribs between the bones and serve hot.
Notes
For extra flavor, let the ribs marinate in the rub overnight. Serve with classic sides like coleslaw or baked beans.
