Description

These oven-baked baby back ribs are juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor thanks to a homemade dry rub and barbecue sauce. Perfect for family gatherings or weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

  • 2 slabs of baby back pork ribs (about 1.5 pounds each)
  • 1 cup of your favorite barbecue sauce
  • ½ cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ribs by removing the thin membrane from the bone side.
  2. Make the rub by mixing brown sugar, cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Season the ribs generously with the dry rub, pressing it into the meat.
  4. Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
  5. Wrap the ribs in heavy-duty aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
  6. Add barbecue sauce, increase the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
  7. Slice the ribs between the bones and serve hot.

Notes

For extra flavor, let the ribs marinate in the rub overnight. Serve with classic sides like coleslaw or baked beans.
