Ingredients
- 3 large ripe bananas (about 1 ½ cups mashed)
- ½ cup creamy almond butter (or peanut butter)
- 2 cups rolled oats (gluten-free if needed)
- 1 cup chocolate chips (dairy-free for vegan option)
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract (optional)
- ¼ teaspoon sea salt (optional)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
- ⅔ cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a 9-inch square baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, mash the bananas until smooth and creamy.
- Stir in the almond butter until fully combined.
- Add the rolled oats and chocolate chips, mixing until evenly distributed.
- Spread the mixture into the prepared pan, smoothing it out.
- Bake for 18 to 25 minutes until the edges are golden-brown and the center is set.
- Let the bars cool completely in the pan before slicing.
Notes
Use very ripe bananas for maximum sweetness and don’t skip the parchment paper for easy removal.
